I simply love this image which highlights the nuances between the characteristics of Helvetica, and its pre-cursor, Akzidenz Grotesk. I have a self-diagnosed addiction to sans serif typefaces.

Entitled ‘Creating a Graphic Portfolio Without A Client’, the article suggests many ways that a graphic designer (student or freelancer) can develop their own portfolio even without having landed jobs with real clients.

Sniff is an interactive public projection in a storefront window: an animated dog follows passers-by, discerns their behavior as friendly or aggressive, tries to engage them in a play and forms a relationship with them based on the history of the interaction.

Spotted on Twitter, I was both amused and amazed at how a simple thing like a staircase could be turned into such an entertaining and enlightening social experiment. European automobile manufacturer Volkswagen tests out their ‘fun theory’ by transforming the entrance to a subway station (Odenplan, Stockholm) into a musical instrument for pedestrians.
